These instructions are applicable for Staff and Faculty. To obtain ROAMS access you must send a request to ITG. Email Enghelp@uwo.ca
Ivanti Secure Access Client (formerly Pulse Secure) will allow you to have access to the UWO network. This allows you to access mapped drives, license servers, and remote desktop connections to UWO computers.
You must download and install Ivanti Secure Access Client (formerly Pulse Secure). Follow this link to get the installer. Pick the applicable installer for your device. https://remote.uwo.ca/downloads/index.html
Once installed you must open Ivanti Secure Access Client (formerly Pulse Secure). Ivanti Secure Access Client should be running in your system tray or will be openable from the Windows search bar.
Once Ivanti Secure Access Client (formerly Pulse Secure) is open Click the + to add a new connection.
Configure the Ivanti Secure Access Client (formerly Pulse Secure) connection
Type: Policy Secure (UAC) or Connect Secure (VPN)
Name: WesternU
Server URL: Remote-Gate.UWO.CA
Once configured click add
Once setup click connect on the Connection you created.
After clicking Connect you will be prompted to login.
You have a few options.
UWO uses only your regular UWO login credentials.
WesternU-MFA requires the use of DUO Mobile to login. https://mfa.uwo.ca/steps_to_setup_mfa.html
Select your applicable option and login using the respective credentials. Pulse secure will show with a green checkmark when it’s connected and working.
Search Remote Desktop Connection in the Windows 10 Search Bar and open the application.
Enter the name of the Computer name. Click on Show options this will allow you to specify login credentials. You must then enter your UWO username. You must enter UWO/USERNAME into the username field. You will then be prompted to a password when connecting.
If you do not know the name of your computer. Check the sticker attached to the case of the device and double check it by searching for System information in the Windows Search bar.
