Launching IntelliJ IDEA and Saving Files on ENG Lab PCs

Launching IntelliJ IDEA and saving files to storage locations

IntelliJ IDEA and other software offered through engineering is available through AppsAnywhere. When using IntelliJ IDEA in the computer labs, you must save files to safe managed storage locations. Either your P or H Drive. Saving files onto the lab computer’s C drive will not allow you to access the data later.

Launching IntelliJ IDE

Navigate to Western Engineering AppsAnywhere (uwo.ca) and login with your UWO username and password. Confirm your login attempt with Duo Mobile. If this is your first time using AppsAnywhere please follow AppsAnywhere - Western Engineering AppsAnywhere - Western University (uwo.ca) for setup instructions. If you’ve done the setup correctly you should see a green checkmark at the bottom of your screen.

Saving files to managed storage locations on lab computers.

Files saved directly onto lab computer (C drive or D drive) eventually get deleted and will not be available on any other lab computers. To access your data on any lab computer requires you save your files to your H drive or P drive.

The easiest way to ensure that your files are saved properly is to save it directly into your H drive or P drive when you make the project. When you click new project, you will be asked to name and pick a save location. Click the folder next to the “Location” item. Scroll down on the list and select your H or P drive.
